Walt Disney Studios started off with a video montage of their 2025 hits and added a peek at what’s next to come. They cleverly even ended the sizzle with a reference to the Marvel post credit scene and the Doomsday countdown. They pointed out that their extended theatrical windows and great stories have led to their earning $6.6 billion in the 2025 global box office. They introduced their slate of movies with the hopes of doing the same this year.
Anne Hathaway introduced The Devil Wears Prada 2. She also gifted the audience with both the trailer and an extended scene. Hello extended look! The movie brings back most of the original cast with some new additions. Fashion is definitely front and center, but the unforgettable characters make the movie what it is. In theaters May 1.
Walt Disney Studios CinemaCon 2026 Recap

The Mandalorian and Grogu was introduced by Jon Favreau. He explained that he used practical sets and some stop motion, along with other things, to create this movie. It was filmed to be on the big screen. CinemaCon audiences got to see the new trailer for the movie. We also got to see the opening sequence of the movie. It looks amazing and is definitely not just a streaming show on a larger screen. The Mandalorian walked into frame like a vintage gunslinger, shooting the enemy with his shiny blaster. Along with him was Grogu, just as cute as ever, but more powerful in the Force. The movie is definitely something that needs to be seen on a big screen. Mandalorian and Grogu will be in theaters May 22.

Next up was Toy Story 5. gave us a longer look at some of the footage we have all seen in released trailers. The toys have become part of Bonnie’s family, but they have a new adversary they must face, technology. Bonnie, like many others, is glued to the screen and the toys must figure out how to deal with the new problem. The audience loved the trailer and rewarded it with exuberant applause. Tim Allen and Tom Hanks came on stage and talked about being these characters for years. They also introduced an exclusive clip for CinemaCon audiences ahead of their June 19 release.
Dwayne Johnson came back to the stage to talk about the live action Moana. “I’ve lived with this character for 10 years,” said Johnson. “ He continued, “ The character of Maui was inspired by my grandfather.” He proceeded to show a photo of his grandfather who definitely had some resemblances to his character Maui. The story is the beloved animated story, but will showcase the Pacific Islands in live action. Moana is a worrier who is supported by Maui and others to go on her own personal journey. The ‘new’ Moana, Catherine Lagaʻaia, took the stage for her first CinemaCon. The extended trailer showed even more for all to enjoy. In theaters July 10.
The Dog Stars is based on the novel and will be rounded out with a great cast including Jacob Elordi, Margaret Qualley, and Josh Brolin. The world has ended and those that are left must defend themselves and fight to survive. In theaters August 28.

Whalefall was introduced to the CinemaCon audience next. It is based on the novel by Daniel Kraus. The story is about the suspenseful journey that a son (Austin Abrams) goes on to find his father’s remains and deal with his feelings. As shown in the trailer, he is then swallowed by a whale. What was shown was quite the attention getter. This thriller will splash into theaters October 16.
An introduction to the film Wild Horse Nine, was up next. The dark comedy follows two CIA agents who are going to Easter Island on a mission. Their partnership will be tested along the way. The film definitely showed the comedic chops of John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell. This looks like something interesting to check out on November 6.

Hexed, a magical coming of age animated comedy, was then introduced. It is about a teenager who finds out her differences are actually because she is magical. She realizes this and goes on a journey to a magical place. The trailer introduces us to the characters, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones, and a world of magic and wonder. Out November 25.
Ice Age: Boiling Point was introduced by its stars, Denis Leary, Ray Romano, and Queen Latifah. We are catching up with the original characters on a new adventure into a new world with new dangers to overcome. The trailer took us back to the ice with our squirrel-rat friend, Scrat, in peril. What happens next leads to the journey for all of the characters. Audiences of all ages will want to see this movie coming to theaters February 2027.

The Russo Brothers and Kevin Feige were there to give the people what they wanted, the new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. CinemaCon audiences were first greeted by Robert Downey Jr. and then Chris Evans. The audience was the first to get a look at the trailer. And after the first look we got the trailer again, to much excitement from the audience. Viewers will see characters from X-Men and Marvel work together to fight the frightening Dr. Doom. Get ready because the team is definitely assembled! Check out the trailer of doom online and remember, 12-18-26 is Doomsday.
Other films that will be released are Super Troopers 3 (August 9) and the animated Gatto (March 5, 2027).
