Brian Barrett: The irony is my favorite part because I feel like venture capitalists have largely positioned themselves as immune to the effects of AI because they’re very special and surely a machine canâZoĂ« Schiffer: It’s art, not science.Brian Barrett: Yeah. It’s art, not science. Machines can take every job, but not us. The ladder stops just below VC for them in a way that is entertaining and fun. So I wonder how many people are actually using this now, especially because venture capitalists themselves are so skeptical of it, it seems like. Who’s the audience? Is it finding real…

Can AI help predict which heart-failure patients will worsen within a year? | MIT News
Characterized by weakened or damaged heart musculature, heart failure results in the gradual buildup of fluid in a patientâs lungs, legs, feet, and other parts of the body. The condition is chronic and incurable, often leading to arrhythmias or sudden cardiac arrest. For many centuries, bloodletting and leeches were the treatment of choice, famously practiced by barber surgeons in Europe, during a time when physicians rarely operated on patients. In the 21st century, the management of heart failure has become decidedly less medieval: Today, patients undergo a combination of healthy lifestyle changes, prescription of medications, and sometimes use pacemakers. Yet heart…

Jo Malone sued by Estée Lauder over use of her own name in Zara fragrance collaboration
British perfumier Jo Malone is being sued by EstĂ©e Lauder Companies for using her own name in a fragrance collaboration with high street retailer Zara, in a legal dispute that highlights the complexities of brand ownership when a founder sells the rights to their name. The American cosmetics giant purchased Maloneâs original fragrance business, Jo Malone London, in 1999, acquiring not only the brand but also the commercial rights associated with her name. The deal allowed EstĂ©e Lauder to expand the luxury fragrance label globally, but it also placed contractual restrictions on Maloneâs ability to use the âJo Maloneâ name…
4. Best actorOnce up on a time, way back in December, this seemed to be TimothĂ©e Chalamet’s Oscar to lose, and now it seems like he really will lose it. Michael B Jordan has come on strong lately for good reason: he is dynamic in Sinners and the heart of the film. And he has a degree-of-difficulty advantage, playing identical twins. It doesn’t take anything away from his sharp performance to note a reality of Oscar voting: that kind of conspicuous acting is just the kind of thing they go for. Chalamet gives one of his fullest performances in Marty…

A lone green candle on XRPâs three-week chart is drawing attention from at least one analyst who believes it could be the start of something bigger than a routine bounce. Crypto analyst CW, posting on X, flagged a bullish candlestick formation on the XRP/USD 3W chart that he says signals the opening of a full-scale uptrend. One that, if his cycle analysis holds, with the setup pointing first to a retest of the all-time high zone and then, in an extreme scenario, to $21.5. New Uptrend Is Starting On The 3-Week Chart Technical analysis of XRPâs price action on the…
Iâve written many times about how I clean my house with natural cleaners. Now to check off something thatâs been on my list for a while: a complete cleaning checklist for the whole house! Sometimes itâs hard to get the motivation (or time) to take on deep cleaning. However, the one time of year most of us feel like tackling it is when spring finally arrives and the weather warms up. Spring cleaning doesnât have to mean complicated systems or cabinets full of cleaning supplies. In fact, the simpler the process, the more likely I am to actually do it…
