As a result, the stocks of many Western tech companies plummeted; Nvidia, which sells the chips that run leading AI models, lost more stock value in a single…

“The description and root cause of CVE-2025-10035 — a newly disclosed critical vulnerability in Fortra’s GoAnywhere MFT solution — is virtually identical to that of CVE-2023-0669, another critical issue that was widely exploited by ransomware groups in 2023, including Cl0p,” Caitlin Condon, vice president of research at security intelligence firm VulnCheck, told CSO via email. “While it’s not clear currently if CVE-2025-10035 has been exploited in the wild, it’s safe to assume ransomware and other APT groups will be highly motivated to develop exploits targeting this new vulnerability.” The new vulnerability was patched 5 days after it was discovered on…

Sir Tim Berners-Lee, computer scientist, inventor of the web and an all-round good guy, wrote some words in The Evening Standard earlier this week, arguing that polarization, conspiracy and mental health crises online stem from design flaws that must be corrected — even if that requires regulation.  The piece draws directly from chapter 13, “Design Issues,” of his recently released book “This Is for Everyone: The Unfinished Story of the World Wide Web,” which I encourage everyone to read. I agree with Berners-Lee’s diagnosis. But regulation is not the cure. The web’s decline is not merely a design failure; it…

The first version of the Light Ethereum Subprotocol (LES/1) and its implementation in Geth are still in an experimental stage, but they are expected to reach a more mature state in a few months where the basic functions will perform reliably. The light client has been designed to function more or less the same as a full client, but the “lightness” has some inherent limitations that DApp developers should understand and consider when designing their applications. In most cases a properly designed application can work even without knowing what kind of client it is connected to, but we are looking into…
