Nearly 25 years after Kid Rock released âCool, Daddy Cool,â the song has sparked newfound controversy.
Rock dropped âCool, Daddy Coolâ in 2001, two decades before he was tapped to headline Turning Point USAâs alternate 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
âWe plan to play great songs for folks who love America,â Rock said in a February 2026 statement. âWeâre approaching this show like David and Goliath. Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible ⌠or is it?â
Rockâs halftime show will compete with Bad Bunny, who is slated to headline the official mid-game performance at Super Bowl LX.

What Are the Lyrics to âCool, Daddy Cool?â
Kid Rock released âCool, Daddy Coolâ with Joe-C in 2001.
âSee me cruisinâ in my Caddy, hoes, they like to call me daddy / Cool, when Iâm stylinâ, just rollinâ on my island,â the first verse reads. âNow just in case I pack heat, keep a case of brew in my backseat / Got a pocket full of cash, hey, got a fatty in my ashtray.â
The song continues, âMackinâ to this phat beat, bass pushinâ through my backseat / You know I got that gangsta lean / Hoes, they all adore me, I stop and they all swarm me / To check out all my fly gold rings / They treat me like the mayor âcause Iâm the biggest player.â
Later in the song, Rock proclaims that he likes âunderageâ women.
âNow some people say my mindâs blown, Iâm coolinâ like a snow cone / On my cell phone, Iâm paid, G, canât call me, just page me / Young ladies, young ladies, I like âem underage,â the lyrics read. âSome say thatâs statutory (But I say itâs mandatory) / My story ainât that complex, two forties and a Rolex / I rip, I rock, I roll, G, I trim my hair with the Flowbee.â

(Turning Point is putting on the concert to âcelebrate faith, family and freedomâ in contrast to Bad Bunnyâs performance on the main broadcast.)
âWonder if Kid Rock will sing âCool Daddy Cool?ââ an X user tweeted. âWill Kid Rock be singing his song âCool, Daddy Coolâ that contains these lyrics: âYoung ladies, young ladies, I like âem underage,â âSee some say thatâs statutory.â âBut I say itâs mandatory.ââ
