With feuds and drama at an all time high on Selling Sunset, could there be a cast overhaul for season 10?
Jason Oppenheim weighed in on the possibility during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly at the T-Mobile exclusive unveiling at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, saying, âThis is a larger decision between Netflix and production, to be honest.â
Oppenheim, 48, noted that âevery option is still under considerationâ before filming begins. He also broke his silence on Chrishell Stause exiting the hit Netflix show after being involved since it premiered in 2019.
âSheâs a grown woman. She can make her own decisions and whatâs best for her. I think everyone on the cast should be making their own [decisions],â he noted. âRight now [she is still working for the Oppenheim Group]. Thatâs another decision that sheâll make.â
Oppenheim continued: âIt certainly wouldnât come from me [if she left]. I leave it to everyone to figure out. And of course, thereâs also Netflix and production, who have a say too. So I try my best to not make decisions, if that makes sense.â
The reality series became an overnight success for Netflix as viewers were introduced to employees at high-end Los Angeles real estate brokerage. Over the years, viewers have watched falling outs, fights and ongoing feuds.

âI donât like it. I want to get it back to real estate,â Oppenheim told Us. âWe can create a really, really amazing show without anything below the belt. Some of our best seasons were without [that].â
Oppenheim would love to see the show return back to basics.
âI think there should be a fun show â like an escape show â for people to watch. Not a show that turns people off or divides people,â he said. âThatâs ridiculous. Thatâs honestly one of the most attractive things about Selling Sunset is that it can be such a fun show to just cuddle up with your partner and just enjoy. We donât want to have people arguing after they watch an episode.â
While Netflix has not yet renewed Selling Sunset, Oppenheim is holding out hope for a more peaceful season 10. He also addressed concerns about more possible exits since Amanza Smith and Chelsea Lazkani donât currently have active real estate licenses, according to the California Department of Real Estate.
âAs a practical matter, what happens is that agents every year have to renew their licenses. Sometimes they forget and so you just get a notification,â he clarified. âTthen all you do have to pay a fine. I donât think that thatâs necessarily indicative of much. Itâs happened to a lot of people.â
Selling Sunset is currently streaming on Netflix.
