90 Day Fiance: Birkan Gambles on Clueless Laura – Before The 90 Days Recap [S08E08]

On 90 Day Fiance, Birkan holds court at his favorite cafe but keeps Laura Nevenner in the dark when it comes to his vices. Forrest’s mom Molly is a gracious guest until the talk turns to finances. Lisa can’t hide under her head wrap, but gives away just enough to skate by. And Annalyn Fox isn’t feeling the love from Jovon Fox as the honeymoon wraps. 90 Day Fiance: Birkan Takes Advantage of Laura’s Trust

On *90 Day Fiance*, Birkan walked out on Laura Nevenner after a couples craft date making evil eye beads. He wants her to cut her pickleball partner and BFF Michal clean out of her life. They are on the way to meet his best friends Memo and Tugba at his favorite cafe. She points out maybe he should at least meet Michal. But he uses the lazy excuse of “men know men”. And suggests Michal has intentions for Laura beyond friendship.

Birkan is greeted with bears hugs from staff and ushered to his “regular table” at the cafe. Laura is happy to meet his friends. Who praise Laura Nevenner for looking younger than her age. They are optimistic that Birkan loves Laura. But admit he’s hiding things from her. Birkan kicks back and enjoys tea and smokes some Shisha. Admitting he spends everyday at the cafe. Laura wonders why he isn’t more productive. Considering he’s 50 K in debt.

Birkan suggests Laura quiz his friends about him on 90 Day Fiance. And he will gladly translate. Of course, since he will control the conversation. The first few questions he discloses. Things like how long have you been friends and what are some fun facts about Birkan. His friend suggests there are things Birkan hasn’t told Laura. And gets hit with a blow of smoke in the face. That thing turns out to be a daily gambling habit. And Birkan doesn’t plan on telling Laura anytime soon.

90 Day Fiance: Forrest’s Moms Doesn’t Hold Back

In a strange turn of events, Forrest was stunned to see the lush B&B Sheena’s family operates and calls home. He’s confused since she cries often about having to turn her paycheck over to her needy family who mistreat her if she doesn’t comply. But he didn’t really make many waves about it to her father and sister. However, mother Molly is on the way. And Forrest fears her wrath could ruin it for him. Molly and husband Dev are also somewhat shocked at the lovely property.

They are impressed with the landscaping and colorful light changing swimming pool on 90 Day Fiance. Sheena says they built the place from scratch. But Molly is skeptical. The families finally meet and Molly is gracious. A traditional dinner is being prepared called a boodle fight. The food is laid out on banana leaves and everyone eats together. Molly is impressed and everyone digs in to the feast. But Molly’s got questions.

She comes right out and asks about Sheena’s claims that the family hijacks her pay and threatens her if she doesn’t pay up. Sheena’s dad and sister are visibly shocked by this. And Sheena begins to cry. And Sheena’s dad maintains he would never mistreat his children and that the money is a loan. Sheena blubbers that she lied out of fear of losing Forrest and an inability to save money. But Sheena’s dad counters that Forrest should be contributing too.

Before The 90 Days: Lisa Tells a Big Lie

Lisa is a nervous wreck getting ready to face Daniel’s uncle to get a blessing to marry him. She’s got a lot of secrets that aren’t just little white lies. Daniel helps her with the traditional head wrap. And she ties her skirt around her waist. Daniel instructs her that they will kneel in front of his uncle and offer wine. Lisa is sweating bullets when they arrive to find “uncle” sprawled on a couch in jammies fit for Christmas morning photos.

He starts off rough on 90 Day Fiance. But softens a little as the interrogation proceeds. Since Lisa is not an Igbo woman he wants to know where she is from. She claims she’s a native American and part Irish. She’s a hard worker who takes care of her household while simultaneously sending money to Daniel for his household needs. But Uncle wants to know if she’s Christian and drinks or smokes. Lisa admits to drinking a little. As for smoking she says she gave it up.

Uncle gets serious. He wants to know if she practices lesbianism as he hears it’s rampant in America. He calls it an aberration. And Lisa looks like she could really use a hit of her vape right now. She says she has dabbled in it. But doesn’t practice regularly. Which brings him to the next question – does she lie. Lisa says we all fib now and then. But she is not a liar. In spite of the whopper of a lie she just told. But Uncle caves and gives the blessing sending these two off into the sunset.

TLC Newlyweds Struggle to Connect in Person

The honeymoon is almost over for Jovan Fox and Annalyn Fox. But it hasn’t been all that romantic for the 90 Day Fiance couple. Annalyn is suspicious of Jovan communicating with an ex. And Jovan isn’t a fan of her drama and bringing his sister into their arguments. Nonetheless they try to enjoy their last days at the resort. Over drinks Annalyn requests to see his phone. Jovan gives it up but all she finds are pics of his dog Zoe. Annalyn lets him off the hook for now.

Later, Annalyn Fox is eager to grab dessert at a halo halo stand. Jovan Fox tries the cheesy corn jelly combination. He also admits to production that while he doesn’t condone cheating, he feels keeping your girl a little paranoid is good. She questions why he seems miserable and makes faces. He says it’s no big deal. But she declares him unromantic and accuses him of not acknowledging their second anniversary. He blames his work and she ends up in tears again.

90 Day Fiance: Rick and Trisha Discuss the Future

Rick Van Vactor and Trisha Stiley head off to see the lemurs of Madagascar. But even the cute wildlife can’t hide Trisha’s disappointment when he admits he may not want any more kids. It’s a priority for her. But he cites his age and the kids he already has. She isn’t sure she could stay in the relationship if he isn’t willing to change his mind. Besides this potential dealbreaker Rick still hasn’t told her he entertained an ex in Colombia.

Trisha Stiley blindsides Rick over a beach fish fry admitting her dad is younger than Rick. And he doesn’t know that. He also doesn’t know that Rick Van Vactor has been married, divorced or has children. She admits her dad probably isn’t going to be happy about any of these things. So she’s going to take her chances and have them meet. Rick takes it all in. But he’s also got to come clean about Colombia. Till next time!
